The small library created within Soswaewon is designed as a participatory space where visitors can connect with nature and discover moments of their own, rather than serving merely as a place to read. Moving beyond the one-directional reading experience offered by conventional libraries, visitors can slip into the surrounding landscape, immerse themselves in nature, and lose themselves in books.
The placement of the building and the choice of materials were planned to harmonize with the traditional beauty of Soswaewon, drawing natural light, wind, and the surrounding scenery directly into the spatial experience. As a result, the library functions not just as a site for knowledge, but as an experiential space where visitors can enjoy both books and nature, discovering new interests and experiences along the way.
